Is it okay to use exploits?

We do not condone using exploits in the game. Exploits are unintended functionality or design loopholes that give players an unfair advantage, or allow them to circumvent important areas of the game.

We also recognize the difference between an exploit - which is a loophole or bug introduced by us - and hacking the game. In instances where players are using hacked clients or 3rd party tools to influence the game, our policy is to ban those players immediately. This does not mean that we won't ban players who are using an exploit - this is handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.

What happens if I use an exploit?

Players who are known exploiters accept the risk that we may revert scores, currencies, player data and other balances to reverse the effects of using an exploit, as well as punish these players for doing so. This is 100% at our discretion, and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. The best way to ensure this does not happen to you is to not use the exploit!

If it’s not okay to use an exploit, why is it in the game?

Because we’re human! 😉 In all instances where we, or the community, has discovered an exploit, we will make attempts to fix the exploit, but the timing on those fixes will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

If exploits give an unfair advantage, why not make it more fair by sharing it with everyone, or making it part of the official game?

Because it’s not the player experience that we’ve designed and balanced the game for.

We equally do not condone the sharing of exploits to other players, and would prefer to work with the community to identify exploits and resolve them, rather than exacerbate the issue. We however cannot prevent players from sharing this information among themselves outside of the community, though they do open themselves up to future consequences by using any exploits.
